I spent more than two decades working with stone, soil, plants, and water—helping transform ideas on paper into landscapes people could actually live in. Along the way, I discovered something deeper: the physical spaces we inhabit have a profound influence on the peace we feel within.
A Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Syracuse University gave me the technical tools to design environments, but life taught me how to experience them.
For years, I worked on construction sites, directed landscape crews, and helped shape everything from residential gardens to large-scale commercial projects. Yet the lessons that stayed with me most weren't found in the blueprints.
They were found in quiet moments outdoors—in the shade of a mature tree, beside moving water, or on a simple porch at the end of a long day.
Today, I bring those lessons to audiences who are feeling overwhelmed by the pace of modern life and disconnected from themselves, their surroundings, and what matters most. My talks through the Sanctuary Steward™ System explore how nature can help us reconnect with our senses, quiet the mental noise, and rediscover the calm that already exists beneath the surface.
